Leisure and activities

Our campsite is especially suitable for doing nothing: simply lounging by the swimming pool or taking in the peace and quiet whilst enjoying a good book and a glass of wine in your hammock.
However, if you are not that good at doing nothing, there is a lot to see, to do and to experience on and around Domaine Les Angeles.

Sports:

Our campsite provides the space to play some ping-pong, volleybal or badminton. And since we're in France, there is also space for a game of boules/Pétanque. Children can enjoy a small playhouse, swings and a slide, plus of course our swimming and paddling pools are more than welcoming on a hot, sunny day. Children may also enjoy our small pond with some fish waiting to be caught; bring your own rod or line and see if you get any bites!

The surroundings of the campsite offer excellent opportunities for walking and hiking, with the GR de Pays nearby. Cycling and mountainbiking tracks start just in front of the campsite, so bring your walking shoes or mountainbike, and we will supply the maps.

For guests who like to play golf, there are three splendid golf courses nearby in Auch, Eauze and Fleurance. In Beaucaire-sur-Baïse you can canoe on the Baïse river, and near Pavie, 3 kilometres south of Auch, you'll find 'Le vert en l'air', an adventure and climbing park offering courses suitable for children from 3 years of age to more challenging courses for the over 12, as well as paintball for children aged 8 and up.

Culture and architecture:

There are several historical, archaeological and art museums in the region, and plenty of castles, cathedrals, convents and abbeys to discover as well. The Château de Lavardens is within walking distance of the campsite. A bit further away, the Cathedral of Condom and the Abbey of Flaran are worth a visit as well. The town of Condom also boasts a famous 2.3m high bronze statue of D'Artagnan and the Three Musketeers, a must for any fan of the famous Alexander Dumas story. All for one, and one for all!

Gastronomy:

The cuisine of the Gers region still luxuriates in the traditionally generous servings of rich delicacies. The famous (or infamous) Foie gras, confit de canard and cassoulet are probably the best known regional products. There are also local strong spirits, like the Armagnac and Floc-de-Gascogne, and local wines such as Côtes de Gascogne. Tastings are available on serveral farms.
Should you wish to dine out, there are several very nice restaurants and brasseries nearby. Many restaurants offer a traditional and good value midday meal for a fixed price. We will happily provide you with reccommendations and arrange a reservation.
Closer to home, after a day of sightseeing or strenuous relaxing, you are welcome to enjoy our twice weekly Table d'hôtes (a set meal with the host, reservation required) and once a week during the high season guests can also enjoy a fresh pizza cooked on site from a mobile pizza van. Our freshly cooked hot chips are a tempting treat as well.

Summer festivals:

During the summer there are several musical festivals, such as the famous jazz festival in Marciac (in August), the country music festival in Mirande (mid-July) and the Salsafestival of Vic-Fezensac at the end of July. In Fleurance you can enjoy the street music festival Cuivro Foliz in July and an Astronomy festival in August.
In addition, there are several night markets and flea markets to wander around, just ask us for information.

Other activities:

The driving circuit of Nogaro offers driving courses as well as events for spectators. Especially recommended for children is the Walibi amusement park at Agen and the spectacular Cité de l`Espace at Toulouse are big attractions. The Airbus site and museum in Toulouse offers comprehensive tours highlighting all stages of the famous airplane's creation, from design and production through to a full-scale mock-up of the fuselage and cabin you can walk through (reservations required).

Groceries and supermarkets:

You will find local producers' markets in Fleurance (Tuesday and Saturday), Condom (Wednesday), Jegun (Wednesday), Valence-sur-Baise (Wednesday), Saint-Clar (Thursday), Lectoure (Friday), Vic-Fezensac (Friday) and Castéra-Verduzan (Sunday). On offer will be a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, breads and pasteries, meats and speciality delicatassen items of the region, as well as some markets offering clothing, second-hand goods, bric-a-brac and souvenirs.

For your further daily shopping needs you can go to supermarkets in Fleurance, Condom, and Castéra-Verduzan.

On the campsite itself we offer a very small shop in case of emergency.
